HIGHER HOOPS SHOOTING PHILOSOPHY

• • • • • • • • • • • •

The Higher Hoops coaching staff has taught thousands of student athletes to master the art of shooting the basketball.  Over the years at camps, clinics, coaching teams and conducting private lessons we have learned what it takes to become a great shooter.  The outline below will guide you in this effort.  We stress three vital factors that must be incorporated into all of your shooting workouts –

Master Technique-

Shooting is a skill with specific motions, alignments and patterns.  Great shooters understand the concepts of shooting

Repetitions-
It has been said, “shooters are not born, they are made.”  We believe in this statement.  Once you mater technique, you must commit to hours of repetitions.  Do you have a 250 and 500 shot workout?

Game Shots-

Once you have technique and grooved it through repetition, you need to evolve by implementing a practice routine using game shots at game speed.
