What is the daily schedule?
All camps will follow a similar schedule that we believe
can have the most impact on the athlete in a short period of time. Below
is our general schedule & what you can expect:
Warm up/ball handling/conditioning – each
day we will initiate each session with a proper warm up that is needed to
prevent injury. By the end of the week the student athletes will have
a complete ball-handling workout. We will be using condition techniques to
improve overall explosiveness, core conditioning of the body with medicine
balls and Pylometrics. (limited plyometric training will be used for our
younger athletes) It will be hard work, but a time full of energy
and fun!
Shooting -- our goal is that each athlete will receive
thorough teaching and training on shooting the basketball. They will
shoot at least 800 shots during the week, review a video analysis of their
shot and develop their own shooting workout.
Position Play -- a key element of our camp, is the position
specific instruction. Athletes will receive 6 hours of point guard,
wings or post-position instruction. These sessions will include all
phases of the game; defense, screening, team and individual offense, transition,
rebounding.
Game Application – each day athletes
will play structured games, where certain aspects of the teaching are emphasized.
Older campers will get up to 40% game application at camp.

Who coaches for Higher Hoops?
Higher Hoops hires current high school
and college players, and high school coaches who know how to play, love to
teach and can motivate and encourage student athletes to their fullest potential. For
the most part we don’t
hire different staff for each camp, our staff is hired for the entire summer,
so you will get our best regardless of what camp you attend. Sample
of our summer staff:
Larry Doty, Head Men’s Coach,
Linfield College, McMinnville Oregon
Drake Charles, Olympia Washington High School Star,
Director of Rancho Sports Center and leader for Higher Hoops in San Diego
County
Stacy Clinesmith, former all state
player at Mead High School. All American at UC Santa Barbara and
five year WNBA player.
Reagan Pariseau and Emily Westbrook,
two of Spokane’s
most outstanding high school players, both currently in their junior years
at Arizona State.

What are Life Lessons?
Higher Hoops is passionate about allowing athletes to interact with messages
that will assist them throughout their life. Each Life Lesson will include
a hand out and section for notes. We expect our student athletes to participate
in Life Lesson sessions by taking notes and learning the principles.
We believe in character development as much as basketball development.
Sample of our life lessons:
Vision Power – Expectations create your starting
point
Zero Shortcuts – Preparation is the secret to success
Fireproof Family – Loyalty is unwavering
Progression Power – Responsibility is your choice
Opportunity Starts – Adversity is the best teacher
Cornerstone Grit – Endurance is finishing
Counter Culture – Wisdom is understanding
Collision Vision – Integrity is doing right
PPNM – Conviction is being true
Act Now – Confidence is what you believe
EQ – Faith is trusting another
